Good record stores aren't always easy to find so here's some suggestions. I've also included what I consider to be the better on-line stores which allow you to shop instanteously over the Internet.
Like the other pages, more is always being added to the list of recommended retailers as time progresses.
In a similar vein to CG Discs with a good selection of discs from all around the world. Prices are reasonable and accepts payment in several foreign currencies (and now credit cards too), but the pound-Germany mark exchange rate hurts UK based customers a little. Also produces a nice newsletter with its current stock - the newsletter might be in German but you can still figure out what it's telling you... Click here to send e-mail for more details

Really interesting and knowledgible outlet with access to lots of hard to find items both old and new. As well as accepting "wants lists" also supplies catalogue very promptly (i.e. within 24 hours...) by e-mail. Accepts payment in foreign currency and also offers free surface shipping workwide on larger orders.

A relatively new UK outlet (originally called Wildside II) that offers very competitive prices and a regularly mailed catalogue update. Mainly focused on UK and European releases, but also able to supply full range of imports as well. Always has 5,000 CDs in stock at any one time and aims to have 100 different Japanese titles available immediately as well. As of late May 2000 they now take credit cards....

Jan Svanhill,
P.O. Box 2819, San Rafael, CA 94912, USA
- An exiled Swede that certainly knows a thing about tracking down obscure and rare vinyl (he only deals in vinyl at the moment but may start stocking CDs soon). His mail order list is brimming over with lots of very difficult to find melodic rock releases, and his prices are totally down to earth! I filled several nagging gaps in my collection with Jan's help without paying through the nose....

Jump to CD Now's on-line store
Claims to be the "Biggest, fastest, bestest... (blah, blah, blah)" on-line store - and probably is! Has a very comprehensive catalogue which can be searched very quickly and easily by artist, album title, record label, or even song title. Ships on a worldwide basis.
Jump to CD Universe's on-line store
Catalogue and prices are pretty similar to Pentagon Records, but is even cheaper on some items! Excellent selection includes non-US released imports, again at very reasonable prices. For European customers they offer extremely fair air-mail shipping rates (putting CD Now to shame!) which is a huge plus. An excellent all round store, which is fast becoming my favourite place to shop....
While primarily being the US label for output from Axe and CITA, NEH also now provides a cost effective outlet for US readers to purchase releases on the MTM label, where the quality is always very high!
Jump to The Missing Piece store
A very interested Swedish based store. Specialises in both Progressive rock and AOR/Westcoast and has a great selection of stock from all around the world including some very hard to locate items.... Every serious melodic rock find will find something they are looking for here!
Not quite a full on-line store as the web site is really just a catalogue of their stock, however it does have comments on all the releases and is updated ever week. This is another very useful store for US and International fans alike - they are knowledgable and even send out a free 30 song sampler tape to customers. The store is US based and ships worldwide.

Spanish based store with good site and good selection of releases, predominatly from European labels. Prices are some of the best I've seen and Spanish exchange rate makes them even better value! Ships on a worldwide basis and very useful for both European and non-European listeners alike.
Another nice American based store with a great selection of melodic rock imports and domestic independent releases. A good all rounder indeed....
Australian Artists on-line - Greg's Store
Very useful outlet for obtaining those hard to find Australian CDs. There's still a surprising amount of new AOR being released in Australian and they're not too easy to find in other countries on import so this site is well worth a visit sometime.
Very nice specialist US store with an excellent selection of AOR, melodic rock, and progressive rock in stock. Mainly specialises in imports and has reasonably competitive pricing. Full secure site with complete on-line ordering facilities.
If you've got any particular suggestions for worthy outlets that should be added to this page, then please feel free to get in touch.
